Spinelli's Masterpiece is the twenty-seventh episode of the forth season of Recess, which was first broadcast on February 6th, 2000.

Spinelli lets off some steam by creating a chalk drawing, which evolves into something much greater. T.J. and the gang do everything they can to keep Miss Finster from erasing it.

  • Dialogue error: Ashley A. tells Ashley B. that Spinelli's drawing brings out the pink in her sweater. However, Ashley B.'s sweater is yellow, not pink.
  • Animation error: When the Ashleys say, "Scandalous!", only Ashley A. and Ashley B. are animated in saying it.
  • Animation error: During the moment when everyone views the end result of Spinelli's art, Jerome switches places.

  • According to the area the satellite was zooming in on to view the blacktop, it would place Third Street Elementary somewhere in Illinois.
  • Clips of this episode were used in a 2003 Disney Channel "Express Yourself" promo.
  • T.J. gives Knarf the co-ordinates 40.5 N, 80 W to locate Spinelli's drawing. That puts Third Street in near Washington, PA., even though the setting of the series is somewhere in Arkansas.
  • This is the first episode after what appears to be a 2-month hiatus.
