"The Bet" is the sixth episode of the third season of Recess, which was first broadcast on September 25th, 1999.
Plot[]
Summary[]
T.J. bets Vince his sixty bests Señor Fusion comics for ten of Vince's mystery books that he cannot go without winning every game he plays for one day, because they are all tired of Vince's un-sportsmanlike attitude.
Unfortunately, Vince takes his losing competitively, and starts acting even worse as a graceful loser than he did as an ungraceful winner.

- Animation/continuity error: When Ashley A. and Ashley B. are jumping rope together, Ashley B.'s collar merges with her clothing in one of the repeating frames.
- Coloring/continuity error: When Vince is trying to lose against Cornchip Girl, her hair is red. It suddenly returns to normal in the next scene.

- This is the first episode where Timmy is referred to by name.
- This is the only episode where the gang are shown wearing gym clothes. Other times in the series when they have gym class, they are wearing their casual outfits.
- This is the second episode that features Spinelli wearing shoes rather than her boots (after "Dance Lessons"); the third would be "Soccer Boy" in which she wears soccer cleats.
